Week of 18 October 2016

The following information summarizes what is new in the edX platform this week.

The edX engineering wiki Release Pages provide detailed information about every change made to the edx-platform GitHub repository. If you are interested in additional information about every change in a release, create a user account for the wiki and review the dated release pages.

  • In open response assessments, when you override a learner’s grade by performing a staff assessment, any steps that the learner did not complete for the assignment are now marked as complete. Previously, steps that required action from the learner remained open and the assignment was left in an incomplete state. (TNL-4696)

For more information about overriding a learner’s grade in an ORA assignment, see Override a Learner’s Assessment Grade.

  • For courses that require ID verification, learners who have valid verifications are no longer prompted to renew their verifications. (ECOM-2979)

This release includes an enhancement to the core checkbox and multiple choice problem types. When you edit these problems in the advanced editor, you can now set attributes and options by adding a <script> element.

For more information, see Using the Script Element or Using the Script Element.

In Insights, an internationalization issue that prevented users of certain languages from loading graphs or tables has been resolved.
