12.9.4. Feature Limitations: Xpert Course Translations#

The Xpert Course Translations feature has the following limitations:

12.9.4.1. Video transcript translation limitations#

An existing English transcript is required for translations of video transcripts. For more information on obtaining an English transcript see Obtain a Video Transcript.

Translations also do not currently apply to YouTube video transcripts, only videos uploaded directly to edX.

12.9.4.2. Unit content translation limitations#

Translations of unit content are currently limited to the following content types:

  • Text / HTML (excluding iframes and embedded content).

  • Problems (single / multiple choice, dropdown, numerical input, and text input).

  • Polls.

Note

Certain advanced problem types, particularly those with custom code (e.g. Python, JavaScript, CSS, etc.), may not be fully supported and may function incorrectly when translated. If a breakage is encountered, reset translations to the original language and report the issue to edX support.
